I was formally introduced to Teenage Fanclub via their near perfect Bandwagonesque back in 1991 when I was 19 years old. From there, I purchased their back catalogue. Between the jangle pop-melody driven Bandwagonesque (which is still amazing), the irreverent debut "A Catholic Education" is more abrasive and raw in sound. The songwriting is a little lacking, but the melody, harmony, and tight playing creates a bold debut foreshadowing for things to come from such a criminally underrated band.
